Cleanses & Detoxes

We have a responsibility to steward our bodies. For most people as you age, you gain weight, you have more health problems, AND people expect it! Do you let your body tell you what to do, or do YOU tell your body what to do? It’s also why people benefit from fasting. Fasting helps you beat your body into submission.  Let’s think about it. How did God create the world? He opened his mouth and spoke. So, how do you speak to your body and what kind of health are you creating?  Decrees and declares- Decree that healing is coming! Declare that your temporary situation will be cured!  This is how you master your body.

Cleanses

A cleanse is a process to remove build-up waste from your digestive system. A body cleanse is one way to steward your body and should be a regular part of your routine. Take your house for example, how long would you allow dust and filth to clog your vents and cover your walls? The same goes for your body. How long do you expect it to operate when it’s unclean? Just like your house, once you allow filth to build up in your body [temple], you’ll constantly breathe in the filth until the next time you clean. That’s why cleanses should be done regularly.

Clear your filth by establishing a healthy lifestyle where you cleanse your body for renewal.  Healed People, offers a four-part cleanse to help rejuvenate your body. It’s suggested you start with a parasite cleanse. Intestinal parasites are underestimated in health. Many complications like fatigue, malnourishment, itchy skin and aching joints could be related to intestinal parasites. They’re living things that multiply from the nutrients you intended for your body. Say you’re eating roasted veggies and take your blood pressure pills afterward.  It’s all supposed to go to your bloodstream. Yet with intestinal worms, these parasites get served first. Removing these living things from your digestive system is the first step to cleansing your body. Rid yourself of parasites so your body can reap the benefits of what you’re putting in your system.

After a parasite cleanse, it’s recommended to do a kidney cleanse. Your kidneys work like a water filter, they’re responsible for filtering your blood and balancing your salts and minerals. Unlike a water filter, you can’t replace your kidneys at the store. But a kidney cleanse helps to unclog your kidneys so they can filter your blood more efficiently. Then it’s suggested to do a liver cleanse. The liver is responsible for cleansing your blood and it works overtime when you allow undigested food, fats, and toxins to build up. A sluggish liver causes fatigue and joint problems, but a cleanse can help restore it to optimum function.

The last step suggested in a body cleanse is a bowel cleanse. After years of neglect, your intestines become weak. Weak bowels can leak out nutrients or toxins that come through your stomach. When this happens, bugs that would’ve been killed in your stomach, seep into your bloodstream and wreak havoc. So it’s suggested cleansing your bowels is the final part of your body cleanse. These herbs help to strengthen your intestines and remove the bad germs from your digestive system.

By now you can see how completing the body cleanse in the suggested order supports your body systems without recontaminating them.  After these cleanses, you may feel lighter, think clearer, and have improved your well-being overall.  But don’t wait until you’re not feeling well to do a cleanse! Cleanse regularly, many people cleanse four times a year. One cleanse can help refresh your body, but think of it like a car. If you wait until your car breaks down, it may be too late. You get the best use of the car by following its maintenance schedule.  Your body has a similar maintenance schedule that includes cleanses and detoxes. We’re constantly exposed to different toxins and harmful substances, whether it be the food we eat or the air we breathe. So a routine cleanse is better than a sporadic one.

Are you ready for a cleanse? There are a few options to cleanse your body. During your cleanse stay hydrated and drink at least eight glasses of water to help remove the waste. The process typically takes five days to a couple of weeks. To begin you’ll want to stop eating things that could be clogging your life. That means no sugar, processed foods, and no late-night snacks. Remember, you’re in control of your body!

Detoxes

A detox is the removal of toxins from your body systems. Detoxes are similar to cleanses as they can also help restore your body’s function. Detoxes are very similar to cleanses with the exception that the process involves all of your body parts. Detox when you want to remove toxins from your body that have built up over a long amount of time. Things like heavy metals, pesticides, or dust can get trapped in your tissues and bones. A detox can help draw the toxins from all of your body and remove them like a waste. So instead of cleansing your body from that double cheeseburger that you had last week, a detox helps to cleanse your body from all of the cheeseburgers you’ve had in your life. That’s why they take a little longer than cleanses, prepare to detox from toxins for a few months or longer.

Stewarding your body is not a temporary fix it’s a lifestyle. The key to both cleanses and detoxes is to remove the product that’s building up in your body. Why continue to put things in your body that make it harder for you to function? If you are cleansing your body to get rid of cholesterol that’s built up over time, then you have to stop eating foods with high cholesterol. To remove the heavy metals from your bones, you’ll want to stay away from cosmetics and industrial equipment. Commit to a few weeks of cleansing and detoxing your body. It will help you get into the routine of doing things that you should already be doing for yourself. This includes activities like drinking enough water, filling your diet with fruits and vegetables, and making sure to take a walk throughout the day. You may think foods are the only things to cleanse or detox, but your diet is just one part of your life. What else in your life can use a cleanse? Have you cleansed your mind from sinful thoughts? Is there a toxic relationship you should detox from? Let’s talk more about it on the porch!
